DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS-ELECTRONICS

Physics is a journey from physical to metaphysical. It helps us to understand the working of the world around us and to connect fundamental concepts with apparent dissimilar realities: smooth flow of ketchup to music from a flute, cell phones and cell signalling to rockets, positron to galaxies, optical illusion to stellar complexes, dark matter and antimatter, and neurons to brain.  

Reverberating with the foundations of Physics, the department is known for its academic excellence and offering research opportunities to students in the final year. It has a theoretical Physics laboratory and Nanoparticle Research Laboratory with computational facility to meet the need of lovers of Physics. The department regularly offers seminars and talks in astronomy, condensed matter physics, theoretical physics and environmental physics under the title ‘Physics for Tomorrow’.

Mission

To groom young scholars of merit in Physics and Electronics with a right balance of intellectual, emotional and cultural growth. Inculcating value system and nurturing sensitivity and tolerance towards fellow human beings, will be our priority.

Undergraduate Programme in Physics-Electronics

The department offers graduate programmes in Physics and Electronics. The courses help to gain knowledge from basic to advanced matter as well as practical skills to work at the forefront of this exciting and developing field. The programmes help to develop independent thinking, observational, quantitative, analytical and communication skills that are required for a career in Physics-Electronics.
