All able-bodied First Year students MUST serve in any one between NCC, NSS, Tarumitra or participate in Sports, Cultural Activities or PT.

The NSS provides students with training in leadership and excellent opportunity to develop the human side of their personality. It puts them in touch with their less fortunate brothers and sisters, the poor, the sick, the suffering. NSS has been organizing a variety of programmes on and off campus, such as blood donation camps, campus cleaning, helping the nearby slum children in education, helping the visually challenged students in preparing for examination through preparing audio cassettes etc. Every year the NSS organises 3 SHARP (Service to Humanity And Retrieve People) camps for its students.
