From its inception in 1956, the department of Chemistry has been building careers for thousands of students. True to the motto, creating excellence through comprehensive learning and research, the department offers two under graduate programmes, BSc Chemistry and BSc Chemistry with Vocational Industrial Chemistry. The department has over 5000 books. Research being a priority, the department has a central lab facility with high ended equipment and publishes in journals of high impact value. Excellence in teaching, skill development, entrepreneurship, internships, experiential learning, seminars, and organising science competitions are the hallmarks of the department. Graduating students from the department are absorbed by industries and premier institutions of higher education in India and abroad. Students of Chemistry have been excellent in extracurricular activities, social services and in sports.
