Established in 1956, the department of Botany offers BSc in Botany and admits 30 students per year. With the motto of creating minds that nurture nature and rivet towards clean energy economy, the qualified faculty are known for excellent teaching, mentoring and social outreach. Research and experiential learning are the strengths of the department. The department has over 2400 books. Students who graduate with Botany are absorbed by premier institutions of education in India. Students of Botany have been excellent in extracurricular activities, social services and in sports.
