That being our motto, our continuous endeavour, is to foster holistic development of the students. In this regard, we lay a lot of importance on imparting soft skills to our students. Soft skills are the set of skills that a person should possess to successfully handle life challenges and build self-confidence. Soft skills are combinations activities which helps the students to have an overall development in personality trait, attitudes and intelligence. These are conducted in form of screening, conferences, workshops, seminars, talks and guest lectures. A wide range of activities are thereby conducted in the college, wherein experienced professors of the college and guest faculties conduct various activities like Program Oriented Program.

In today’s time language and communication skill plays a decisive role in almost all aspects of professional as well as social life. They are key stone activities which helps in grooming the students for overall personality development. These mainly includes combinations of verbal, written and non-verbal skills. Excellence in these skills assists students to communicate with each other, exchange information, make decisions and coordinate well with their team members. Thus, inclusion of such activities in college curriculum helps in development of such skill-sets which are vital for achieving professional goals. Some of the effective features in the applications include interacting with one another, training, guest lectures seminars etc. An example in this regard, is the program conducted by Tata Consultancy Services wherein students are made to undergo a training for 100 hours as an affirmative action programme.

Life skills are considered as one of the core skills which each individual must acquire and inculcate internally as well as externally for the betterment of both personal and professional life. For development of healthy life with reverence to emotional and physical health for an optimistic outlook of life, college organizes various programs for enhancement of student’s development. Following the saying ‘A healthy mind is healthy you’, College emphasizes on various initiatives with regards to health, hygiene, sports and yoga.

St. Xavier’s College recognizes and comprehends the expediency of various trends in technology in their respective subjects. There is no escaping the fact that to succeed in today’s times, all students have to be technology savvy. In order to generate awareness among the students, which would result in increased opportunities in the work field for them, we at St Xaviers, organize various activities, wherein students are brought together and exchange of knowledge through seminars, talk, guest lectures and field visit are conducted. Students ideas are given immense importance’s and with understanding and knowledge of the Professors various program with respect of trends are arranged. Seminars/workshops/fests have been organized regularly by departments.
