Fees Notice for Semester-II Students
St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad has been rated as a ‘5 star’ Institution in the GSIRF ranking under the category of ‘Colleges’ in Gujarat. The college has received an overall CGPA of 4.5 out of 5 with the parameters of assessment being ‘Teaching and Learning Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity’. The Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) is a pioneering attempt towards creating world class institutions in Gujarat by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) in partnership with the Indian Centre for Academic Rankings & Excellence (ICARE), India’s most trusted institution Ranking & Rating Authority.
India Today in its Best Colleges Survey 2021 has ranked St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad at the 25th position under Arts Colleges, at the 26th position under Science Colleges, and at the 14th position under BCA. India Today has ranked the colleges in the country with respect to their infrastructure, faculty, environment and resources provided to the students. Due to the pandemic, there have been concerted efforts by the college to ensure that the students and teachers are able to use new teaching learning approach by using the college learning management system.
Fr Valles was conferred the Padma Shri (2021) posthumously. He was asked to teach Mathematics at St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad, and in the process began to learn Gujarati. He wrote several books in Gujarati and was awarded the Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak, one of the highest awards in Gujarati literature in the year 1978. He also write in English and Spanish. He used to write in the Sunday Supplement of the Gujarat Samachar in a column called “Navi Pedhine”. There were several books in Mathematics that he wrote in Gujarati, which has been an immense contribution to education.
