Cognizance, the economics festival which is popularly known as the Xavier’s Ecofest is a flagship event which started in the year 2013.

It has become bigger and grander since then and the department sees it to evolve and become increasingly relevant with each passing year.
The event consists of activities which hone the analytical and reasoning skills of the students in the area of economic thinking. Number of students from the city, the state and all across India participate in these events.

The festival nurtures the students’ careers with a variety of skills and virtues such as, leadership, public relations, marketing, team spirit, financial management, marketing, presenting, graphics and computing, discipline, punctuality etc.

EcoFest 2023:

TThis year’s EcoFest attracted 346 participations in 6 offline and 2 online events on it’s 10th anniversary. The Inaugural Ceremony welcomed Guest speakers Mr. Vinod Agarwal, past chairman CII Gujarat, Mr. Umesh Menon, Consul General of Mozambique, Gujarat and Mr. Ketan Mehta, RTD. Major who enlightened the students on the theme- Containing the dragon- exploring Indo-China relations through trade and security.
